Continuing A Redlands Bicycle Classic Tradition: Local
Families Get National
Recognition.
Redlands, CA.- The 2008 Redlands Bicycle Classic Organizing
Committee Seeks Families To House Professional Riders:
Sports fans everywhere savor any opportunity to "mix" with
their favorite athletes and equally relish any opportunity
to be apart of "their" team's success. Cycling
is no different; enthusiasts of all levels enjoy the
up close and personal nature that the sport of professional
cycling offers its fanfare.
The Redlands Bicycle Classic takes the close nature
of cycling a step further. We offer our competing teams
Host Housing from gracious local families, this tradition
continues to be one of the unique aspects of the race
that keep cyclists coming back to Redlands. "I still
keep in touch with them through e-mails and Christmas
cards," says Alison Dunlap, two time RBC champ and
former World Mountain Bike Champion, of her host family.
Host Families are another integral part that makes the
Redlands Bicycle Classic Legendary. "For a week
every year, it's like having an extended family at our
home. You feel like you play a role in their racing experience
here at Redlands" says long time participant Leslie
Pompa.
If you, your family, or friends want to participate
in the Host Housing Program, your efforts will be appreciated
and remembered by all. Host Families offer a comfortable
place for athletes to sleep, some space in their refrigerator,
and the use of their washer and dryer. Volunteers for
this program receive cases of water from the RBC Organizing
Committee as well as special edition Host Family T-Shirts.
For more information about becoming a host family and
adding to the legendary theme of the Redlands Bicycle
Classic please contact Serena

Hosting just a few cyclists or an entire team can be
your opportunity to see the inner workings of a Pro Cycling
team and learn what these amazing athletes do when they
are not suffering on their bicycles.
